What is Disney’s PhotoPass?

Disney’s PhotoPass is a photography service offered to all guests of the Walt Disney World parks. Photographers are located at key locations throughout the park, ready to snap your family’s photos in front of major park icons. You can identify them by their khaki “safari” vests…and giant cameras!

In addition to taking your family’s picture in front of icons like Cinderella Castle and Tower of Terror, PhotoPass photographers have some magic tricks up their sleeves! During certain holidays or at certain photo spots, they can add Magic Shots. These photo enhancements add animation, beloved Disney characters, or both to your images. Ask the PhotoPass Cast Member at each location if they have any Magic Shots to offer!

PhotoPass locations aren’t just limited to park icons. You can also find some great photo opportunities while riding on attractions! These are great candid shots, and fun to look at to remember the fun you had on your vacation. Some attractions, like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Tower of Terror, will even take a video of you!

At most PhotoPass locations, a Cast Member will tap your Magic Band or park ticket on their company smartphone, or you’ll tap your Magic Band or park ticket at a designated spot at the end of an attraction.

How Do I View My PhotoPass Images?

PhotoPass images are available for viewing through the My Disney Experience website or app on your smartphone. Most photos will show up on your account a few minutes after they’re captured, but some take a little longer, (i.e. video on Tower of Terror). Check your account at the end of each park day to view and download all your images from that day!

What is Memory Maker?

Memory Maker allows you to prepay for all of your PhotoPass images, before or during your vacation. For one flat fee, you can enjoy unlimited downloads of all your PhotoPass park photos, character meet-and-greet photos, and attraction photos or videos. If you purchase Memory Maker before your vacation, the cost is $169. If you purchase during your vacation, the cost is $199 and the package may take at least one business day to take effect.

Some guests choose to forgo Memory Maker, and they still have options when it comes to their vacation photos. PhotoPass Cast Members will happily take photos on your personal camera or phone if you ask. You can also purchase PhotoPass images separately through My Disney Experience, at the price of $15 per photo download.

Disney’s PhotoPass service is a fun way to add some additional magic to your Walt Disney World vacation. Everyone is able to be in the picture, digital downloads make sharing your vacation memories easy, and Magic Shots with your favorite characters just add a little “oomph”! I hope you’ll take advantage of this service on your next vacation!
