Welcome to the final part of my February FastPass+ Series! Now that you’ve learned The Basics of FastPass+ at Walt Disney World and some booking strategies, it’s time to start planning! In this post, I’ll give you my recommendations for great FastPass+ reservations for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Let’s go!

Tower of Terror (Best FastPass+ for Hollywood Studios & Animal Kingdom)

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon or Slinky Dog…There Can Only Be One!

Just like Epcot, Hollywood Studios FastPass+ attractions operate on a tiered system. On Tier One are Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and Slinky Dog Dash. All three of these attractions are very popular, and since guests can only choose one, a strategy is key!

I recommend choosing a FastPass+ for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway or Slinky Dog Dash. These attractions will trend towards longer wait times and do not offer a Single Rider queue as Millennium Falcon does. If your party would rather stay together, I recommend rope-dropping Millennium Falcon or riding it closer to closing time.

Tower of Terror

Step into the Twilight Zone on this beloved attraction! Tower of Terror is one of the most popular attractions in Walt Disney World, so it’s no surprise that it regularly experiences wait times over 45 minutes. Most of the queue is outdoors, so I recommend getting a FastPass+ reservation for this one so you’re not out in the hot Florida sun!

Rock n’ Roller Coaster

This choice is a little controversial, as Rock n’ Roller Coaster does offer a Single Rider queue. In my experience, the wait time for Single Rider can come very close to the regular queue on busy days. If you’re traveling during a busier time of the year (i.e. Christmas) or your party wants to experience the attraction together, definitely scoop up a FastPass+ reservation for this one!

Options for Additional FastPass+

If you can secure the three FastPass+ reservations for the attractions listed above, you’re in great shape! Unfortunately, Hollywood Studios does not offer a lot of attractions that are a good use of an additional FastPass+ reservation. This is due to the fact that Hollywood Studios offers as many stage shows as it does attractions, and these typically do not require a FastPass+ to enjoy.

I recommend trying to secure another Tier One attraction, or one of the following as your additional FastPass+.

  • Star Tours – regularly experiences wait times over 20 minutes, the queue is mostly indoors
  • Rock n’ Roller Coaster (Again) – regularly experiences wait times over 60 minutes, the queue is mostly outdoors
  • Tower of Terror (Again) – regularly experiences wait times over 45 minutes, the queue is mostly outdoors
Pandora: World of Avatar

Flight of Passage or Na’vi River Journey…There Can Only Be One!

When Pandora: World of Avatar opened in May 2017, it quickly became one of the most popular lands in Walt Disney World. Due to this popularity, both of its attractions regularly experience wait times over 90 minutes!\

Animal Kingdom FastPass+ attractions are tiered, just like those at Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Guests are only permitted to choose one Tier One attraction: Flight of Passage or Na’vi River Journey. I recommend getting a FastPass+ for Flight of Passage and rope-dropping Na’vi River Journey. If you are unable to secure one for Flight of Passage, do the opposite!

Dinosaur

Journey back to the age of the dinosaurs on this thrilling dark ride! Dinosaur continues to be a very popular attraction among park guests, with wait times often exceeding 45 minutes. The queue is entirely indoors, so if you must wait in standby you’ll be comfortable. However, you can save a lot of time by grabbing a FastPass+ for this attraction!

Expedition Everest

Escape from the terrifying Yeti on this roller coaster through the Forbidden Mountain! This is one of the most beloved roller coasters in Walt Disney World, so it regularly experiences wait times over 45 minutes. The queue for this ride is mostly covered but entirely outdoors, so the FastPass+ is definitely worth it to avoid waiting in line in the heat. This attraction offers a Single Rider queue if your party does not mind being split up.

Options for Additional FastPass+

  • Kali River Rapids – regularly experiences wait times over 30 minutes, the queue is entirely outdoors
  • Kilimanjaro Safaris – regularly experiences wait times over 45 minutes, the queue is covered but entirely outdoors, popular with guests of all ages
  • Meet Favorite Disney Pals at Adventurers Outpost – regularly experiences wait times over 30 minutes, the queue is entirely indoors, popular with young children
