A Walt Disney World vacation comes with the typical expenses of any vacation – resort room, theme park tickets, food, etc. But did you know there are magical things that you can add to your vacation for absolutely no money?! Here are just a few of the amazing things you can get for FREE at Walt Disney World!
These are my favorite freebies at Walt Disney World! If you or someone in your traveling group is celebrating something – birthday, graduation, engagement, wedding, retirement – be sure to pick up a celebration button.
These can be found at any Guest Services location in the theme parks, Guest Services at Disney Springs, or at the front desk of your Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Make sure to wear your buttons in the parks and throughout the resort! You never know how a Cast Member may sprinkle some extra magic onto your vacation!

If Disney’s Memory Maker was not in the budget for your family’s vacation, you can still get some amazing photos! Disney PhotoPass photographers are more than happy to capture your family’s vacation memories with your personal camera or cell phone. Just ask!
Walt Disney World has some amazing attractions in each of the theme parks. They also have some free experiences that you can add to your park days to make them even more fun!
In the Magic Kingdom, guests can go on a magical scavenger hunt with Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. This game challenges guests to collect special trading cards to interact with “portals” throughout the park. New cards are added continuously, especially during events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, so the game can extend through multiple trips. Stop by the Fire Station on Main Street, U.S.A. to get your starter pack!
Guests can also have some digital fun via the Play Disney Parks App! This app features trivia games and challenges unique to the four theme parks and some of the lands within them. Some challenges include prizes, like pins, for guests who complete them. New trivia questions and challenges are added continuously, so this is an activity that can extend through multiple trips. To get started, simply download the app on your smartphone!
Character meet-and-greets are so much fun! Whether you’re enjoying character dining at restaurants like ‘Ohana or meeting characters in the park, these experiences make great memories. They also provide you with a great souvenir, for free! Characters can sign your autograph book (or another keepsake) and take pictures with your family. Each character is accompanied by a Cast Member, so ask for their assistance with photos if you need it.
Walt Disney World is known for its high-quality entertainment throughout the parks. One of the best things about enjoying the parades, shows, and firework spectaculars is that you can enjoy them at no additional cost. All this entertainment is included with your park ticket! Some can even be enjoyed outside the parks. For example, you can watch Happily Ever After at the Magic Kingdom from the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
This is a bit of a hidden gem of a freebie, but still very cool! If a trip to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is not in your budget (or you’re too old for it), you can still get your pixie dust! Stop by Sir Mickey’s behind Cinderella Castle and ask a Cast Member for some pixie dust. You’ll have a wand full of glitter waved over you, the perfect addition to your day at the Magic Kingdom!
