The Basics of My Disney Experience (Thumbnail)

What Is My Disney Experience?

My Disney Experience is an application that helps you in planning all aspects of your Walt Disney World vacation! Guests can use the app to book Advanced Dining Reservations and FastPass+ reservations, as well as access important park and resort information. I’m going to unpack each of these features separately because there is a lot of information in this app!

Park Information

On the home screen of the app, you can find a lot of information about the four theme parks, two water parks, and Disney Springs. Simply click on the map that pops up at the top of the home page! From here, you can filter to view wait times, dining, PhotoPass locations, restroom locations, and more.

My Plans

Spreadsheets are an amazing planning tool, but they are not the most travel-friendly things to bring into the parks. That’s where the “My Plans” button comes in! Click on this option from the home screen or bottom menu panel to view a chronological itinerary with all your Advanced Dining Reservations, FastPass+ reservations, and special event or tour information. You can also access your Resort Information from this list.

Resort Information

Forget your room number, or just want to see what dining is offered at your resort? Click on the Resort Information button from the home screen, My Plans, or the bottom menu panel. Here you can find details about your resort room, dining, guest services, recreation, shopping, spas, and entertainment.

If you’re staying at a rather large resort, (and get a little turned around), there’s a Resort Map feature that can help you find your room. There’s also a feature that allows you to use your phone to unlock your door if you should happen to leave behind your Magic Band on that morning coffee run!

Disney PhotoPass

Looking for all those great PhotoPass photos you’ve taken on your vacation? Click on the Photos button on the home screen or the bottom menu panel. Here, you can see photos from the vacation you’re on, and any Disney World vacation that you’ve taken PhotoPass photos for within the last year. You can download the photos and videos right to your phone to share with family and friends back home!

Mobile Order

This is the ultimate time-saver on a Walt Disney World vacation! Instead of waiting in line to order food or snacks at a Quick Service location, you can use Mobile Order. You’ll be able to see which locations offer this service right in the My Disney Experience app. Select the dining location you want, select your food and/or beverages, and pay using a credit/debit card or Disney Dining Plan. Then head to the designated pick up spot at the dining location and pick up your food!

Tickets

This menu item allows you to view the tickets for each member of your party. You can view ticket types, expiration dates, and blackout dates for different levels of Annual Passes. If you’ve purchased any special event tickets (i.e. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party), you can view them here as well.

Shop Merchandise

Walt Disney World offers a lot of unique souvenirs for purchase, and this feature helps you shop smart! See a shirt in a shop, but can’t find your size? You can use this feature to see the other shops that stock the same shirt, instead of wandering around in every shop you come across. Looking for a specific item? You can use the search function of this feature to find it!

Play Disney Parks

Play Disney Parks is its own app, but you can access it for download or use from My Disney Experience. This app is perfect for those long lines, (i.e. Slinky Dog Dash)! You can play games themed to the queue or land you’re in, which makes the time go by a little quicker. Frequent players are rewarded with special prizes, like collectible pins.

Chat Feature

Need to ask a question? You can use this feature to chat with a Walt Disney World Cast Member. Your conversation will be saved in the app until you decide to close it, and the familiar text message format is easy to read.
